Granforce (グランフォース) is a series of adventure video games developed by Burst Arts Inc. It stars Barts, a young apprentice of the famous hero Hawkin, whose life changes with the discovery of the ancient Granforce, which in turn changed the world of Miston forever. With the help of his friend Lyle and the princess knight Vivian, among others, Barts seeks to save Miston by putting an end to the constant evils that arise such as the warlord Benma. Since the release of the first game in 1996, this series will go on to release 16 games.

SettingEdit

The Granforce series takes place in Miston, a high-fantasy world separate from Earth. Legends say that Miston was formed by the efforts of the Twelve Divine Judges, whose powers have been passed to twelve different races, carrying on their tradition. The Divine Judges also left behind an ancient artifact known as the Granforce, which has been hidden away from civilization since. In the first game when Barts is sealed inside the Granforce, it led to two different timelines, the normal era and the Deadlands era. The former is the era where Miston is more peaceful, with only a few crime rates, while the latter is the result of the warlord Benma conquering Miston, destroying the peace protected by the Divine Judges. There are also different locations in the normal era, such as the Dark Towers, said to awaken every 90 moons, and the World of Mist, a hidden realm that has been covered in mists due to a mysterious infestation.
